In response to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, SGC supported high-impact emergency operations across diverse mission areas. We successfully managed and oversaw shelter operations, ensuring the safety, security and comfort of shelter residents with a focus on compliance, coordination and compassion. We also supported two large-scale logistic service areas, helping to streamline the intake, storage and distribution of critical resources with precision and agility. We administered a call center, delivering timely, accurate and empathetic support for public inquiries regarding debris removal activities. Additionally, we also supported FDEM as Infrastructure Branch Chief along with Program Manager of the State’s Debris Task Force. This included waterway debris operations in eighteen counties and derelict and abandoned vessels statewide.
